It’s damn good to be home. It was wonderful to sit down in front of the television, plug in my new Minecraft Special Edition Xbox One Controller and search through something that I could get a quick achievement for and, essentially, free me up for the rest of the day.
Truth be told, if I had it my way, I’d be perched on the couch until late evening, but the thing I perhaps hate about Christmas the most isn’t actually anything to do with Christmas, it’s the ‘come home and unpack’ that provides the most consternation. So, like the diligent family that we are – our evening is likely to be spent shoving kids’ toys into various baskets and cupboards until ultimately we collapse on the couch, watch a long overdue episode or two of The Crown, and then fall into bed.
It’s with these ‘responsibilities’ in mind (shudder) that I went in for what I thought would be some quick and easy progress on Soulcalibur. So, after multiple losses in the campaign or story-esque mode, I was surprised that my button mashing managed to prompt an achievement. And I’m talking soul(-calibur) destroying losses. Turns out one of the moves I was landing (one of the trigger buttons) was a Soul Charge Hit, so looks like I was fortuitous.
Alright, enough of this frivolity. Time to unpack bag number four …
