Mini Metro • Deliver 500 passengers in Stockholm
I’ve finally gotten another chance to do some PC gaming this holiday season, and because I’m in the mood for something cathartic, I’ve decided to round-out my week (as mentioned earlier today, I go home tomorrow!) with the catharsis of Mini Metro.
It’s amazing how such a simple little game sucks you right in. It’s a true testament to the fact that graphics don’t overrule good gameplay – and Mini Metro has it in oodles. Tonight I managed to get the achievements for 500 passengers in Osaka and Stockholm, but the Japanese characters in the Osaka achievement might cause the internet to break, so instead I pushed through for Sweden to take the mantle.
The game is clearly picking up pace for me now. Kid-gloves are off, and it’s time to step up and manage those little coloured lines better than anyone’s managed them before. Of course, a quick go at the daily challenge and arriving in the bottom 40% doesn’t really instil me with confidence, but practice makes perfect. I suspect that some people who have this game on tablet or phone have gotten very good at it, so I don’t feel too bad as a casual PC hack, but either way, regardless of my stage on the journey, this is where I’m up to. And I’m happy with it!
